Been offered part time Christmas job but not sure

Ages ago I applied for a part time Christmas job, I had not heard anything but today received a call that has led to me being offered the job. It's only 3 weeks but even though its part time the lady said it will end up being full time. I know it's not for long but will now mean the few small things I had planned when my kids get back from university wont happen now an di will miss my daughters birthday, as well as not having the time now to complete my OU study. So I'm not sure what to do I suck it up and except I wont see the kids apart from xmas day or not bother and say no to the job as it's only 3 weeks work?

It depends entirely on your reasons for applying in the first place.

What are the hours? Seems very full on if you will on see you kids on Xmas day!

So you applied for part-time but have effectively been offered full-time?, If you can't do full-time I would say 'I really appreciate the job offer, I am really interested in x hours a week but I would not be able to work full time - is this a deal breaker?'.

Sounds like you have a few things planned, can you not just tell the employer you can’t work those days?
