Can anyone translate this SD card?!

I'm looking for a 32gb SD card but looked up the restrictions for the product and this is what it said: UHS-I UHS Speed Class 3 standard SDHC /SDXC . I'm confused! Please can someone who understands this give me a link?

Thanks in advance.

Sdhc is standard digital high capacity, sdxc is extra capacity so it will take either (they are all the same physical size, it's just how much memory they have). Class 3 stands for how fast it records things, so how detailed the final recording will be, the higher the class the faster and more detailed. Hopefully the link below explains it all? www.7dayshop.com/blog/whats-the-difference-beteween-sd-sdhc-sdxc-micro-sd-cards-and-their-various-class-speeds/

Thank you! If I get a faster card will it still work? I know it won't record faster - just sometimes that is all you can get.

What is it for? Your op says restrictions for the card needed which would make me think it can't support anything faster and larger, or is it a minimum specification?

You need one with a little 3 in a bucket printed on it (like the Argos one Cake linked). The rest of the specification comes along naturally with that 3.

They don't go any faster than 3 yet, so that's not a worry.

Ah I thought speed went up to 10. It's connected to a gift and the person is on MN so I can't say what.

I'm not sure if it's restrictions exactly, my camera is an old one and can't manage anything bugger than 2gb so I don't know if this is the same and it can't handle higher or if that I just what they recommend.

The first capacity type is the standard SD card which supports cards of up to 2 GB in capacity. Next comes the Secure Digital High Capacity (SDHC) type for cards over 2 GB and up to 32 GB. After that, we have the Secure Digital Extended Capacity (SDXC) cards which offer storage capacity between 32 GB and 2 TB. In June 2018, the SD card association announced a fourth capacity type called SDUC

Your camera might not take all these types. If it's very old it could even be regular SD only. Or it might need a firmware update to take SDHC or SDXC. If it's a major brand, look on the manufacturer's website.

Brilliant, thank you. I've learnt a lot!

Not least that you can get SD cards up to 2TB! Shock
