Matching Christmas PJ’s

Directionerforever · 02/12/2020 15:01

I know I know. I’m thinking I’ve left it too late, no interest in spending over £100 on a set of 4 but wondering if there was anywhere with stock at a bit more reasonable price point for essentially one night PJ’s...

Last year I managed to get ahold of Primark ones but only for the kids and DH, all of the female ones had gone. I’d planned to do an early raid of Primark this year but of course, 2020 and all that meant no Primark for me. Will they be stocking them now they’re back open again? Anyone been today and can confirm or deny?

Or anyone know where else I can get them to satisfy (teen 😂) DD’s desire for us all to dress up like knobheads on Christmas Eve?

Asda may have stock, you can order online. A friend who went to Primark today got plenty there for her family

nosswith · 02/12/2020 20:56

Just no.

Tell your teen DD that single or low use clothing (aka fast fashion) are the second largest contributor to climate change, so you are not going to do this to help the environment.

We get ours from Next, but definitely don't wear them for one night. We wear them all year round. That would be extremely wasteful.

Redcherries · 02/12/2020 21:02

I get matching for all the girls in the house on whatever day we all celebrate together. Generally 4 of us from 3 households. We all wear the pjs year round, they don’t get worn once only. It’s no different to buying any pair of pjs.

We did the same for a trip this summer, couldn’t agree a particular pair so we had a theme, meant we all got pjs that suited our style/comfort. So you could do tartan, or winter animals, or winter red traditional style etc.

Seriously if matching pjs make a teen happy during these shit times go for it.

BrieAndChilli · 02/12/2020 21:02

The kids have new pjs on Xmas Eve but they wear them all year round. They aren’t going to shrivel up and die because they wear Christmas pjs in may!

WillSantaBeComingToTown · 02/12/2020 21:06

£11 in Primark- why can't you go and get some?

Redcherries · 02/12/2020 21:07

I don’t know @BrieAndChilli , I wear what could be Christmas themed tartan night shirts all year, I have gotten a few wrinkles this year, it’s a slippery slope 😉

Newpuppymummy · 02/12/2020 21:08

Matalan. I’ve just been

Biscuits101 · 02/12/2020 21:16

Ebay has tons (new ones)

Directionerforever · 02/12/2020 21:27

@WillSantaBeComingToTown Er well I can obviously but I was asking whether anyone had been today who could tell me whether they were in stock or if they weren’t bothering this year with being shut for a month in the run up as I’ve not seen them advertised. They ordinarily sell out early doors and I wasn’t sure what the craic was with being closed for a month.

And I was being tongue in cheek with the one night only thing but surely the effect is ‘one night only’ we ain’t gonna be parading about in them en masse in June. Obviously they will be worn outside of Christmas Eve/Christmas Day morning but not as a group thing.

I had a look at Asda and Matalan online and there didn’t seem to be any full sets in stock. Looks like it’s going to have to be something I brave the actual shops for.

Mumsnet doesn’t half make me chuckle at times Grin Cheers for the help guys.

I just ordered some for us all from Very...

Faithtrusts · 02/12/2020 22:53

Just been to primark today and they had matching family Christmas pjs in

xoxogossipgirl2020 · 02/12/2020 22:54

My local Primark had loads today (and loads of Christmas decorations, which was nice considering every other shop is full of bare shelves!!!) and the lady at the till told me that they’d had 3 delivery’s (Generally, I don’t know what of exactly) during lockdown and therefore the stock room was full to bursting and people need to calm down! having said that, i am kinda of enjoying the idea of 2am trip to the nearest 24hour store one night when I can’t sleep!!!

Directionerforever · 02/12/2020 23:01

Thank you @Faithtrusts and @xoxogossipgirl2020

Which ones did you go for @Offerdecisionneeded?

miamiibiza · 02/12/2020 23:17

Aldi £4.99

Got some on Sunday, and they are lovely

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 02/12/2020 23:20

B and m

CaledoniaCatalan · 03/12/2020 00:12

I had the same problem, couldn't get all matching so gave up on the idea then was in home bargains and managed to get some. They're not the best quality but at 9.99 for adults and 4.99 for kids you can't go wrong. My DC's are going to hate me tho

herethereandeverywhere · 03/12/2020 00:13

Not online.
I got 10 pairs in my local Primark today but they were going like hot cakes.

Doublebubblebubble · 03/12/2020 10:13

Aldi has some nice matching pjs. Its just finding the right sizes that I struggle with.

Xmas Grin
