Want to join my pity party.

Just dropped DS off to preschool walked into my house and it's an absolute mess. I really need to tidy and clean it but hiding under my duvet seems like a much better idea.

DS is a whirlwind and DD is 1 year so it's hard to keep on top of it. DH worked really late last night so where we would work together to get it reasonable he wasn't there so I just did a quick sort last night and I'm regretting it now.

I hear you. We had the brilliant idea of getting the loft boarded and decorating the dining room at the same time. You can probably imagine what my house looks like right now. And it's never really tidy at the best of times!

Mine is sparkling. Dcs went back to school Monday after 14 day isolation and I have spent the past two days completely blitzing the place. Had to do it in parts as still recovering from covid but it’s feels great.

It really is never ending. I can spend all day cleaning and honestly within an hour it will look like I never bothered. I have five DC aged between 4 months and 10 so I think it’s to be expected. I occasionally get to the bottom of the laundry pile but there’s a small pile there again by the end of the day...

Me!!!!

Honestly, it's our biggest fault I feel. We moved into our beautiful new build 2 years ago now and we just have too much 'stuff' and it's overwhelming.

I'm not a hoarder per say but we kept all DD baby stuff - although now expecting No2 so will be used but the 'nursery' is just full of other crap. At the weekend we decided to ban all toys from the front room and as a team we did, putting them all in a little snug we have (which now looks like a bomb has hit it!) so we could at least put the tree up. We've managed relatively well to keep it clear this week but the rest is just soul destroying.

I'm feeling slightly more at ease knowing it's not just me, but I leave for work at 6.50am, get in 6.30pm, dinner, bedtime for DD and then suddenly it's 9pm and I'm knackered and want bed myself. Never ending

When it's bad, I stick the timer on the oven for 20 minutes and do 20 mins per room blitz - tidying, emptying bins, that kind of thing. Then I recover with a cup of tea, and doing each room after that in depth is then FAR less of an issue.

I feel like I never sit down (ok I am sat down now but just because I’m listening to the 10 month old shouting in her cot refusing to nap and drying from my shower!!) Last night I finished the clean up downstairs whilst DH put laundry away upstairs...by the time I finished, lunchboxes done, sorted out the toys (why do toddlers have such fiddly toys that babies like to try and eat!!) he had put away 2.5 baskets of washing but just left .5 of a basket...why?? Because he knew I’d do it probably...I got in to bed at half 12. Baby had woken 3 times between bedtime and that time. Toddler then woke up and came in our room at about 1. Baby up again at 3. And then 5. And all up for the day at half 6. It’s ok for them they’ll be in bed at 7...me, I’ll probably have another half 12 finish from cleaning up everything downstairs!

Tell me it gets easier! Whatever room I clean, the terror twins (toddler and baby) charge in after me and undo it all. God I adore them, but isn’t it just a slog sometimes! If someone told me 3 years ago the amount I would do on so little sleep, I wouldn’t believe them. The baby doesn’t nap and crawls, pulls herself up, eats ANYTHING. I’ve never known a baby like it. She’s nuts! I just put her in her cot now so I could have a shower and she shouted at me the whole time.

Shall we book a MN group spa weekend somewhere? Let the kids fend for themselves? 🤣

Mine too and I’m hating it. I’m WFH but all I can see is mess and I can’t focus on work! We’ve been redecorating so everything is chaos and I just need to sort it all 😩
