Oh god my house smells of dinner

Open plan from kitchen through to dining room into lounge... I can still smell dinner despite a Dyson air filter fan and a scentsy burner. How do you neutralise the smells?! It's not unpleasant, in fact I just get hungry later on in the evening.

Open a window?

Jellybean100 · 01/12/2020 22:59

Is this the first time you’ve cooked or something?

Plonque · 01/12/2020 23:01

I have a wax melt burner, gets rid of chip fat smell when we've had the fryer on.

Do you have an extractor fan, and did you use it?

ExCwmbranDweller · 01/12/2020 23:08

I have this problem! Just downsized and have a big downstairs kitchen/diner/lounge and everything smells of tea until I piss the children off open the back door and windows the next morning to air the place. Was planning some lovely curtains for the floor to ceiling windows in the kitchen until I realised they would perpetually stink of cooking. Pfft, what to do. Also yes I do use my extractor fan, it seems to be a really good one.

Are you for real? Wtf did you cook?

Cheeeeislifenow · 01/12/2020 23:10

It annoys me when my dp runs to open the kitchen window and close all the doors in case , God forbid we should smell food in our house. The only exception is when fish pie has been cooked.
Just crack a window op.

Cheeeeislifenow · 01/12/2020 23:11

Also have you never cooked before?

CorianderQueen · 01/12/2020 23:24

It's just the smell of your own food... it'll be gone by morning
