Are we allowed to test perfumes in shops?

I'm looking for a few perfume for myself for Christmas but I need to test them really rather than blind buy, are testers still out as usual in department stores for people to test or do you have to ask for each one? I know the shops have been closed obviously, but were the out as usual prior to them closing again?

Might depend which store you intend to go to?

Might be different where you live but in Wales our shops have been open a while and I visited Boots and they are allowing you to smell perfumes but they spray it on a card for you so you can't handle any bottles.

Yeah DM works in a small boots and said they don't have any testers at all and the bigger boots were just giving you a card with it sprayed on, I wasn't sure if it would be the same for all other stores though. Just as I don't particularly know what I'm looking for was hoping to try quite a few but probably won't bother if this is the case

I don’t think any stores are letting the public handle testers if they even have them right now
