Anyone got any advice on persuading GP to prescribe me expensive antibiotics?

I've been seeing a private endocrinologist for a while now as I was getting nowhere with the NHS trying to solve various health problems. A lovely and very supportive GP at my local practice is corresponding with him however and has prescribed what she can on the NHS to help out. I did a test for something that came back positive a few weeks ago and my private doctor has recommended antibiotics that cost over £300 a round and I forwarded his letter on to her. She prescribed the other, cheaper thing he recommended but has not prescribed these antibiotics. I have a phone call with her later on today, however, and so am wondering if there's any way of persuading her to prescribe these meds. I'm on a very low income and these cost almost half of my current monthly salary. I'm paying for the private doctor with inheritance money which could also pay for these but my private doctor has said I may need them multiple times and there will undoubtedly be a point in the future when the inheritance money has run out (I'm getting through it at a rate of knots with all this private healthcare).

Does anyone have any experience of this? I used to think that if something wasn't available on the NHS then it just wasn't available but from reading various threads on here I now think that may not be the case and it's the decision of the individual GP. I'm in Scotland by the way if that's relevant.
