Any suggestions for games that a group of four 4 year olds could play outside for a birthday 'party'??

How much space do you have and what’s your budget? Lots of room - various races / obstacle courses. Not much room - melting blocks of ice with small plastic toys in them by pouring lukewarm water over.

This sort of thing: kidsactivitiesblog.com/8885/melting-ice-experiments/

Thanks so much, DownWhichOfLate.

Plenty of space, budget flexible but as little as possible!

Obstacle courses could be great.

Love the ice idea too but worry that they'd get really cold little hands as is going to be pretty chilly anyway. Might save that one for the summer.

Treasure hunt

Lots of active and dance games. Musical statues, musical bumps (if you can find something to sit on so they don't get wet), Simon says (things like 5 star jumps to keep them moving), what's the time Mr Wolf etc.

Treasure hunts are always popular. Get some stickers, divide them into plastic bags and then hide them, the children take a sticker from each one and stick it on thier paper. Saves 1 child finding all the sweets, or for that matter finding hygenic hiding places.

Along the lines of Simon says you can call out things for them to go and run too, something blue, something soft, a tree.

Big bubble wrap sheets to jump on if you can get hold of them - could do a kind of musical chairs with them so that everyone has to run to one and jump on it.

What’s the Time Mr. Wolf? (Also What’s the Time Grandma?)

These are great, thanks so much. Party games are not my strong point!
