shopping bags shouldn't be girly!

I keep a couple of those little reusable shopping bags in my coat pocket or handbag. The sort which either fold up into a little pouch which is part of the bag, or tucks into the corner and secures with a drawstring - from M&S and Waitrose, I think.

Since DH has been working from home he's been doing a lot more shopping than previously. So as a joke he's asked for some similar bags for his Christmas. He is perfectly secure but would prefer something not floral, pink, pastel-y, cutesy cats, unicorns.

Do you think I can find ANYTHING suitable?

Apart from plain ones without any pattern the choice is dire. He's after something camo, with cars on, star wars - anything not overtly feminine.

But the choice is really, really poor. Wee business opportunity for someone??

I made bags for my husband to keeping his car using denim and tweed. Have a look on etsy, there are loads of bag makers on there - or look up how to make them on YouTube if so inclined.

Primark have a big choice of canvas totes that aren't all girly. I've seen Star Wars, Stranger Things, Harry Potter and ones with eco messages on.

Loqi has plenty of neutral designs, they carry a lot of weight and last a lifetime too.

Actually, my own favourite shopping bag is a jute bag that the Funeral Director gave me my late father's ashes in. It's plain with squared off corners, not too large and I use it for heavy things like milk cartons. They must buy them in bulk somewhere,

We have black and white fold up bags from Ikea. DH keeps one in his work bag (or used to!)

Tesco do dark coloured ones.

It's a fold up put in your pocket one he's after, not a tote as we have loads already. Will look at the loqi ones. Still convinced that 80% of designs are aimed at the female market.

Aldi do great ones at Christmas. They're dark blue and they fold up into an orange carrot (Kevin the Carrot). I got them for the Christmas stockings we make for family and everyone uses theirs...men and women.

Ecochic have good ones, I have one with whales on, and FIL has one with highland cows.
