I call my parents via laptop every week. My mum answers on her laptop. Then my dad sits on the other sofa at the other side of the room joining in the conversation.

So all I hear is a vague mumble in the background. Then when I say " I'm sorry I cant hear dad's voice", mum SHOUTS what he has said down the phone as if I'm a moron and just not trying hard enough.

Yeah it's not my ears that are the problem. The microphone cannot physically carry his voice. Aaaaaaaargh.

Sorry it's a niche rambling complaint. I am just fucking sick of managing relationships through my laptop. And breathe....

Lol! Just like my parents. We have a set routine for our calls. They have a set bloody routine for everything, drives me nuts.

Tell me about it. Do you think it happens to us all? My cat died and I rang to tell my mum, except bargain hunt was on so she had to cut her sympathies short. Bet it was a repeat too!

I love them but jeez

Do they also list their food on a day to day basis, or tell you what they’re planning to eat the next day? I broke this weekend and told them straight that it wasn’t very interesting. They saw the funny side and said they’ve got so bored that even Brexit (which they were furious about) doesn’t get them going anymore.

Lol this made me giggle
