Just twigged that if the extractor fan and tumble dryer are running, I can have a good cry in the utility and nobody hears

So that’s my main Christmas preparations sorted. Phew.

Going to pour a glass of wine. Hope everyone is having a better day. As you were.

What's making you cry, OP?

TheWoollybacksWife · 30/11/2020 21:18

Hope tomorrow is a better day for you Thanks

Aveena · 30/11/2020 21:27

Thank you. Just all a bit much at the moment.

OhToBeASeahorse · 30/11/2020 21:32

Do you want to talk about it?

BadEyeBri · 30/11/2020 21:36

I cry in the car on the way to work.

Aveena · 30/11/2020 21:39

Oh I don’t think I’ve got the energy but thank you so much. I think it was just cathartic to post (even if relatively pointless otherwise).

BadEye I’m sorry you’ve got reason to cry Flowers

I cried today too. But I weep daily in the kitchen. Flowers to everyone.

RefuseTheLies · 30/11/2020 21:43

I cry in the shower.

Flowers op

BadEyeBri · 30/11/2020 21:44

Awh OP it's just been a shitty year. A good cry is cathartic. Lets out all the built up pressure. I hope you are ok Daffodil

rainbowruthie · 30/11/2020 21:46

Sending kind thoughts Flowers

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 30/11/2020 21:47

Crying is good for you.

Do you really need to hide it? Those around you shoukd support you, unless you're a single parent with small children I guess.

Hope you have fewer reasons to feel like crying x

TriflePudding · 30/11/2020 21:49

Do you want to vent a bit here? I’ve had a cry this evening, I’ve been looking at some jobs which look perfect for me, and after an evening dealing with a devastated DS (who has ASD) who had a bad day school it hit me squarely in the face that I am unable to return to work for the foreseeable.

Chat away here OP if you want

H1978 · 30/11/2020 21:49

I always treat myself to a cry, it’s like a detox.

Letsgetbizzy · 30/11/2020 21:52

I read once that you find the stress hormone in tears so it IS actually good for you to cry... it really does relieve stress.

takingafewbreaths · 30/11/2020 21:52

I cry, no shame if it gets too much, sometimes it's needed. Sometimes everything is overwhelming, sometimes we're just upset for no reason. Sending hugs x

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 01/12/2020 11:25

I want, NEED, to cry. But for some reason I can't. 😢

YesPleaseMary · 01/12/2020 11:47

So sorry for everyone with tears.

I have a lump in my throat as though I want to cry, but I can’t. It comes and goes but it’s there more often than not.

ODFOx · 01/12/2020 11:57

My manager ( matrix arrangement so he's junior to me and quite a bit younger) asked me if I was OK today. I have been stuck at home for months, but very very busy, isolated, teens, house, elderly relatives, SC all stuck miles away at uni or in tier 3 areas, plus menopausal.

I'd like to say I cried but instead I tried to pretend I wasn't crying/sobbing while carrying on the most awkward conversation in the world and snorting intermittently like Peppa Pig.
Undoubtedly scared the heck out of him.

I'm telling myself that it's ok to wobble, Otherwise we won't have anything to get over and wonder about how lucky we are next year.

Best wishes to all who are struggling at the moment.
As Karen from Love Actually says 'This was always going to be a crap time. Just be patient'.
