When do you ring GP for heavy period?

Period started at 10pm last night . I’ve finished a pack of maxi pads since then . Soaked through to mattress at 6am . Using three pads at a time as I’m flooding otherwise .

I’m on propranolol which might be making it worse but I’m horrendously dizzy . BP is a bit low on standing (about 90/70ish) and HR a bit low (63-65ish) . Feeling a bit sick and recognise that from BP being a bit low before . Also diagnosed with borderline anaemia two weeks ago, although Gp said not quite bad enough to treat yet .

Not on any meds for periods. Previously had coil, implant, mini and combined pill, triptorelin, progestogen tablet - history of endo, adhesions and PCOS .

Should I phone the GP today and ask for help , or just keep going? Previously they’ve said nothing they can do, most women struggle with periods but it isn’t a medical condition ... so I’m not sure about ringing again !

Mine said if you fill a pad in an hour. So definitely call! That’s not right at all. Such bullshit woman have to put up with. Hope you get some help

As PP said, a pad an hour seems more than reasonable to call them.

I had these for 6 months the after my son was born even though I was breastfeeding and was given medication to help as I was iron defincient due to them

That gives me the rage - why should this be considered something you should put up with. But in your case that sounds like a hell of a lot of bleeding which your GP should be investigating.

My DD is 15 and has already tried 2 pills for heavy, frequent and painful periods with neither making much difference. I fear she is in for years of being fobbed off and it makes me so sad.
