Rescue centre chose a version close to it, and we "un-chaved" it.

I think you need a compromise - maybe a hyphenated name?

Or, if all the suggestions would work as an acronym you could try that.

Honestly, the dog doesn't care.

Hes named Link after my favourite game character.
