Halfway between Winchester and north Devon?

We need to do a Granny handover halfway between Winchester and north Devon, is there anywhere nice that might make a good place to hand over plus stretch legs etc? Looking at the map nothing obvious leaps out at me.

(Lockdown police, this isn’t imminent, just planning, thanks).

Not at all glam, but I usually stop for coffee at the Taunton Deane services on the m5! Parking’s always good, toilets aren’t disgusting & there’s space outside to stretch legs.

There’s a Toby Carvery in Taunton just off the motorway. We stop there for breakfast on our way to Devon. It’s always been quite pleasant.

Is the Taunton Deane the one that had works done for ages? Trying to picture it.

Otter Valley Field Kitchen in Honiton off A30 - does great food & amazing ice cream, plenty of free parking & an outside area.

Darts Farm, Topsham near Exeter - outdoor play area, food outlets, shopping & free parking.

Several National Trust places: Killerton, Knightshayes, A La Ronde.

Places along Dorset/Devon coast - Lyme Regis, Seaton, Beer, Charmouth - all have parking (not free), places to eat, beach walks & attractions.
