Where can I buy kids trainers before Monday?

Dd walked in deep puddle of mud. Hmm Here’s me thinking I’ll just wash them like every other pair I’ve washed before, only it turns out the soles weren’t stitched. So now trainers look clean but the soles have pretty much fallen off. Grin

Any ideas?

Supermarket
Click and collect at somewhere like John Lewis or next

Divebar · 28/11/2020 23:32

Supermarket ?

Redshoeblueshoe · 28/11/2020 23:33

They had some cheap ones in Aldi this week

Tried Sainsbury’s none in her size. John Lewis click and collect wouldn’t arrive till 3pm Monday which is too late for PE. I’ll drive round and check Aldi. Looking on next right now. Gahh!

Who would have thought it would so difficult to buy trainers on a Sunday!

Next isn’t possible either.

Argos with click & collect in to Sainsbury’s? Or a big Sainsbury’s/Tesco’s that does clothes?

nancy75 · 28/11/2020 23:55

Or an Asda if one nearby

SingleHandSue · 28/11/2020 23:57

For some reason Very are always really quick with their sportswear and trainers, usually next day for me

Lululatch · 29/11/2020 06:44

Ask on local fb site if anybody selling? I had to do that for slippers in first lockdown when grandmother went into respite care at short notice

TammyTwoSawnson · 29/11/2020 06:47

Anyone that does next day delivery! I ordered a pair from the Adidas store online and they were delivered next day.

onyourway · 29/11/2020 06:49

Class WA group?

BefuddledPerson · 29/11/2020 06:54

I would just ask school to excuse from pe for one day, sometimes shit happens, and then you can get the right trainers at the right price for the next pe lesson.

HuntedForest · 29/11/2020 06:56

I'd ask around the class if anyone has a pair she can borrow for a couple of days. I wouldn't be driving myself crazy to replace a pair at such short notice. If no one could help, I'd message the teacher to warn her and I'd tell DD to go barefoot if they're doing sport indoors or school shoes outdoors. It's only one PE lesson.

Sports Direct - know it's not a great shop for the way they look after their staff... However, they are open on a Sunday and sell loads of trainers.

They're shut at the moment.
Dontforgetyourbrolly · 29/11/2020 07:10

Sports direct are open round here so maybe double check. I couldn't believe it but somehow they are essential for exercising purposes. Good luck .

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 29/11/2020 07:14

Sorry I do apologise, the website does indeed show they are closed but my local one had lights on and people queuing outside.. .... click and collect ??

Clymene · 29/11/2020 07:24

Our local one is completely shut. I thought people were queuing but it was for Argos next door!

I had a similar problem OP so emailed the teacher and explained I had ordered some but they wouldn't arrive until later in the week.

We're in lockdown - shoe shops are shut.

SpaceRaiders · 29/11/2020 08:02

I’ve given up! No where does next day delivery or click and collect on a Saturday evening with delivery on a Sunday. I’ve checked Next, John Lewis, Very etc. I would have thought Amazon prime would have a few but nothing there either.

Decathlon doing click & collect 1 hour

Birthdayhat · 29/11/2020 08:09

If you go on eBay and sort the search results by distance, you may find some that you could 'buy it now' and collect in person today?

LadyPenelope68 · 29/11/2020 08:12

All the supermarkets sell trainers, it’s not a big issue.

Sunnydaysarethebestdays · 29/11/2020 08:28

If you’ve got a Sainsbury’s with an Argos near you they stock shoes and clothing for immediate collection.

madasamarchhare · 29/11/2020 08:34

If there’s an m and s near you that’s open for the food hall they have other departments open too. In our local one the whole of the downstairs is open which is including bits of children’s wear and menswear too but if you need something that’s upstairs they’ll go and get it for you.
Otherwise I would write a note and excuse her from the lesson on this occasion. If you have no joy at supermarkets either there really is nothing else you can do.

Ilikewinter · 29/11/2020 08:36

Do you live near Decathlon, selected stores are open
