Transformer for use indoors only - LED light help please!

I’ve bought some Christmas LED lights and the box says they are for indoor and outdoor use but that the “transformer is for indoor use only.”

I don’t know what a transformer is so I googled it and it seems to be the plug.

So I don’t understand? How can the lights be for outdoor use if you can only plug them in, inside? Confused

We have an outdoor plug socket attached to the house (for the lawnmower), does this mean they can’t be plugged into this?

Please help as I don’t understand 😅

The lights can be used outdoors but the plug should be indoors. The transformer will not be weatherproof. We plug the lights in indoors and feed the cable out through a window.

Ours are plugged in inside, itsthr lights that are suitable for outdoor use not the plug. If you want to use your outside plug you can buy waterproof socket box's, I've seen them in homebase.

We've got the cable for ours fed through a window. Unfortunately you often find the design of the plug on these lights won't safely fit in the outdoor socket box because the bulk of them is up rather than down from the pins.
