I've accepted an offer but it's become clear it was too cheap

An item that's been gathering dust for years, too good to throw away but taking up space. TBH I'd have given it away if I knew anyone who wanted it. One of those hobbies that only lasted a few months.

I finally listed it on FB, price £100. I think it was £600 new, so it is a bargain. I priced it to sell.

Within 20min it was sold and they're apparently ion their way, travelling an hour to get here.

Since then I've had 5 more people want it and some have offered more money if I'll sell it to them.

I'm not going to mess around the people who are on their way for the sake of a few but quid but I'm amazed at the people who think I should.

I will be cross if they don't turn up though!

Look at it this way, if they turn up it was an easy hassle free sale. If they don't turn up someone else will give you more moolah for it.

this has happened to me :) lowballed myself thinking item would never sell, got six offers in the first half hour. could have put it on for a lot more. ah well, at least it sold. live and learn.

Just something unfortunate that you can put down to experience.

It's £100 we didn't have before and it seems to have gone to a good home, they've just collected.

That was easy. It's the first time I've sold on FB, now I'm eyeing up the rest of the house Grin

Yes, next time start a bit higher! You can always come lower if you do not get any interest! Enjoy you £100.

AwFeebs · 28/11/2020 16:43

Yeah chalk it down to experience!

You've gained £100 and someones got a bargain. Smile

You'd be surprised at how many people would just sell it to the highest bidder despite a sale already having been agreed, the buy/sell etiquette is hit and miss on FB. Grin

Yup. It's easy to get carried away after a few easy sales.

Then people don't turn up. Or you get the endless messages asking if you will deliver despite saying clearly collection only.

Or people quibbling about the condition of something you've described as "well worn, suitable for an up cycling project" and only want £10 for. (

And then you meet lovely people. Like the woman who bought bedside chests from me and gave me a bit more as she thought I'd underpriced them, or the person who bought our old sofa and sent a lovely message saying how happy she was with it and that it was in brilliant condition.

Things like thet reinforce my faith in humanity.
