Dull thread asking for advice about baby gift

(Sorry if this is on the wrong board .....) Could any of you experienced mums out there advise me on what I might buy as a baby gift for an acquaintance (nice neighbour, not close friend) who is about to give birth to a girl. I am childless and, therefore, clueless about these things. I know that she is pretty well prepared for the arrival so will have a lot of stuff already. Budget £30-40ish. I'd like it to be a surprise so don't really want to ask her what she needs. Thanks in advance for any wisdom. Smile

A meal
Board book (dear zoo, hungry caterpillar, rabbits nap etc)
Clothes in 6-9 or 9-12
Toy that's not a soft toy

Books or a none soft toy. Careful with clothes because if she has a smaller or larger baby you won’t get clothes for the right season.

Or forget all that and get the Mum some Just cook vouchers.
