Are celebrity faces getting bigger?

I've been noticing for a while now that when watching something, and i'ts mainly US actors but are their faces growing or am I losing my mind?
I've looked at photos a then and now comparison but I can't see much difference though photos are easy to alter. Two I've noticed recently are Nicole Kidman and Kristen Bell. (I've been watching Undoing and The Good Place) It's very distracting when trying to watch I keep comparing the faces between the staring cast and support cast.

Is this the natural result of using fillers? Does everyone's face get larger as they age? Or am I mad and no one else has the foggiest what I am on about.

I think you are sort of right Grin. When I have seen 'celebs' in my country irl, they seem to be almost all head. I think the reason is how tiny and not slim but very very skinny they are, so the head seem to dominate.

Simon Cowell’s face has pretty much doubled in size in the past 20 years. It’s amazing when you look back, it’s the whole boiling frog analogy, you don’t notice his face puffing and swelling as it’s done by stealth.

Likewise Jennifer Aniston. Fillers are shite, big moon faces and giant avocado shaped noses!

John Travolta'S has for sure.

Nousernameforme · 27/11/2020 20:17

Yes! I'm not imagining it. John Travolta has a huge face in comparison to what it used to be.

Supposedly the people who look best on tv (or cinema screen, cant remember if it's either or both) are short with big heads.

So maybe there is now even more of a push towards this type. As well as all the filler.

EdwardCullensBiteOnTheSide · 27/11/2020 20:33

Do heads not keep growing with age? Or is that just ears and noses? 😂

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 27/11/2020 20:38

John Torode has a big face, so does that bloke from DIY SOS. Ainsley Harriot's face is huge.

Lou Carpenter from 90s Neighbours, though? Most mahoosive face ever...

GettingUntrapped · 27/11/2020 20:38

I suppose it's a case of real or manufactured real. It is a very good thing when we are able to spot manufactured real and name it as that.
But, fuck... I still like Nicole Kidman.

Nousernameforme · 27/11/2020 20:49

It's not about having a big face it's about a face that's got bigger over time.
As far as I know its just the ears and nose that grows.
Nicole Kidman is fine it's not a sneery look at them. I just noticed something was different and wondered if anyone else had noticed DP says theres no difference.

Is it also something to do with widescreen / screen ratios?

Poppingnostopping · 27/11/2020 21:21

I have noticed this and it's down to a few things I think- Madonna and Paul McCartney both have much larger faces now.

One is definitely fillers, which create the pillow face, other reasons are your jaw line sags and the neck creeps up so there's less definition around the jaw, the other is that people are often at their thinnest when young, so putting weight on also increases the face size.

Madonna and Nicole are definitely in the filler camp.

I think I had a smaller face when younger, most of my friends did too!

motorcyclenumptiness · 27/11/2020 21:57

Fillers and Botox and more fillers? I'm struggling to follow the plot of the Undoing because Nicole Kidman's face is so distracting. Nothing moves with the muscles provided for the purpose - she seems to be operating her enormous top lip with her hamstrings. Meanwhile Hugh Grant - all glorious wrinkles and wonky teeth - looks like the portrait in her attic, but at least he doesn't have to throw his head back to open his eyes.

tinkerbellla · 27/11/2020 22:01

I was thinking this earlier today about Jennifer Aniston! Still stunning though obviously. My face has defo got bigger and changed shape in the last few years so must be age.

Obviouspretzel · 27/11/2020 22:46

Those two pictures of Simon Cowell ... his face is literally twice the size.

MiddleClassMother · 27/11/2020 22:49

I've never noticed this before, but now I can't not notice it! Hahaha this is so weird

Vulgarlady · 27/11/2020 22:49

Priscilla Presley actually looks like Elvis now. Such a huge overfilled jaw

SlightlyJaded · 27/11/2020 22:50

Leonardo di Caprio's face has trebled in size, I'm sure of it.

I just found this.

Sittinbythesea · 27/11/2020 22:52

Is that really both Simon cowell? Different teeth, eyes, nose... bonkers. The second one looks like a photo- fit

FlibbertyGiblets · 27/11/2020 22:54

Crikey Simon Cowell has got a new nose. Never noticed that before.

ReeseWitherfork · 27/11/2020 22:56

Made me laugh out loud!

Thanks for ruining every bit of TV I’ll be watching over the next few days. All I’ll be doing is inspecting face size

Fuckitsstillraining · 27/11/2020 23:09

Seen Goldie Hawn on tv recently, her face looked so wide and weird. The fillers are so overdone if ridiculous looking

winewolfhowls · 27/11/2020 23:17

So true about lou from neighbours!

SingleHandSue · 27/11/2020 23:20

Carol Decker from T’pau had the widest, over-filled face I’ve seen in a while.
