Stain on carpet - moving soon HELP!

My dog vomited on my cream bedroom carpet a couple of weeks ago (over night and I didn't realise until morning Envy).

I'm due to move in a couple of weeks and want to leave the carpets nice and clean, but I can't get it up! Its left a horrible orange patch.

So far I've tried vanish stain remover spray, 1001 stain remover, fairy liquid, dr beckermans and 6% hydrogen peroxide and nothing has made it budge!

Would hiring a rug doctor be worth it? Any tips for something I've not tried yet?? HELP!

Yep, try a rug doctor.

White vinegar?

Biological washing powder (not liquid)?

SoapAndFury · 27/11/2020 20:46

Ah thanks! Bicarbonate and vinegar next on the list, then the rug doctor is all else fails!

Stop using chemicals and especially dont use acid and then bleach!
What is the carpet made from? You have to tailor what you use to the fabric and the stain.

Vomit is acidic. Acid is used as the fixative for dying wool. So if the carpet contains wool it could have been dyed.

Try using baby wipes, used to get orange cat sick stains out of my pale carpet!

Hesfamousforit · 27/11/2020 22:00

The rug doctor is AMAZING

SoapAndFury · 27/11/2020 22:09

Ah thanks all, have a load of baby wipes in so will certainly give that a go! The carpet was already here when I moved in, but seems to be a big standard nylon.

Are you renting?
When I've rented with a dog I've had to agree to get the carpets professionally cleaned in the contract

If not, I agree - go for rug doctor
