Name changed for this. DS (16) usually fit and healthy feeling really, really tired and lost 3.5 kilos in a six week period . Stomach pain too in lower abdominal area. GP says blood tests showing concerns around liver and kidney function so ordering more blood tests immediately. I can’t remember if she mentioned enzymes but also suggested it could be a virus. Anyone got any similar stories with positive outcomes? GP also mentioned celiac disease but DS has had no bowel changes. Diabetes tested for and ruled out.

He hasn't picked up giardiasis?

GreenSalon · 26/11/2020 18:50

Haven’t heard of that!

Yersinia, appendicitis, glandular fever, overactive thyroid?
Does he have any fever?
That is a lot of weight to lose in a short period of time.

Thanks. dr is now getting thyroid etc done and in a weird way, I’m hoping the worst outcome is a diagnosis of glandular fever.
