What TV do you watch with your young DC?

My DC are 3 and 5. They watch what they want, and I watch whatever I want once they're in bed. We've started having "movie night" but none of us watch standard tv. It's all Netflix, iiPlayer etc.

I can't help but feel we are missing out on watching a regular evening program together. I have memories of Saturday afternoon/evening TV. (The A team, Bullseye....😂)

Do you still do this? What do you watch? Theu are in bed by 8 at the latest, occasionaly later at the weekend.

I'd be grateful for any suggestions.

At that age all they were interested in was CBeebies, Barbie films and Disney.

It's only in the last year or so mine have been intery in adult TV.. youngest is 7. They like Bake off, strictly etc. Plus the silly sports on Red Bull, Top Gear and Grand Tour.

I look forward to this too. My DS is three and has started to enjoy things like Wallace And Gromit and Moana, but I've not tried him with any Saturday Nught shows as you describe.

I used to love Gladiators and Noels House Party etc.

What about slapstick things like Total Wipeout or You've Been Framed?

Ooh yes I think they watched YBF at the grandparents, good idea.

We like the old Walking with dinosaurs or occasionally can get 30 mins out of a nature documentary with my 3 year old.

Films we can watch together.... Homeward Bound, pixar stuff, the Grinch.

We are the same but again they like bake off and a good fun one is ninja warrior

Lego masters, sewing bee and bake off are favourites in my house.

Mine are 5 and 7 so slightly older, but we love watching as a family:

  • the bake off
  • you’ve been framed
  • family fortunes (with Gino de campo)
  • supermarket sweep (now with Rylan!)
  • the older one likes a bit of catchphrase too
So basically any of the itv entertainment shows 😀 I am also hoping that cbbc do another series of crackerjack with Sam and Mark as they LOVED that this time last year!
