Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without Baylis and Harding.....

Oh yes I think this every year. If I don't have my bathroom full of the cheaper version of Molton Brown then honestly forget the tree, the decorations, the mince pies, it's just not Christmas for me. This has to be the most annoying line of a Christmas ad so far.

Have any ads you've seen recently got your wondering what on earth the marketing people were thinking????

I don't even know what Baylis and Harding is so their advertising can't be that great.

Twilightstarbright · 26/11/2020 07:45

I find the carrot Aldi advert a bit weird and don't understand the buying frenzy of the cuddly characters on eBay.

knittingaddict · 26/11/2020 09:23

There's an advert? Where?

Baylis and Harding is cheap crap masquerading as posh. Having said that I do think their rose and geranium is lovely and the lavender one is nice too. It's not a treat though and certainly wouldn't make Christmas special.

This comes up every year. It doesn’t matter what you think is special, if you can afford Molten Brown go for it, but my family can’t, I appreciate what they give though. Honestly the downright snobbery on here really gets me down at times.

NorbertMeubles · 26/11/2020 10:40

It's not snobbery, it's the way they think that their handwashing makes Christmas. I use the stuff but don't think there is something missing at Christmas if I don't have a bottle.

Can't say I've ever got the impression that they think their handwash makes Christmas.

I actually really like their products. They've never irritated my skin. And they're scents are a bit different from the average hand wash. They're candles are also pretty nice.

PhantomErik · 26/11/2020 16:02

I like their products, they smell nice & don't make my skin flare up. Always happy to receive one for Christmas.

Deathraystare · 26/11/2020 16:37

Can't stand Baylis & Harding. It is everywhere. Not impressed!

Mandalorian · 26/11/2020 16:42

Just said on another thread, be aware that they now also sell under the brand The Fuzzy Duck Co. Trying to sound twee I imagine.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 26/11/2020 16:43

Two threads today :

One saying Molton Brown is overrated and Baylis and Harding is much better and better value...

Another saying if you don't get some Baylis and Harding for Christmas is it even Christmas?

Note to Baylis and Harding : if this is a marketing ploy Mumsnetters aren't fools

TinyBarista · 26/11/2020 17:51

*Bayliss and Harding is cheap crap masquerading as posh"

Yes - exactly this!! I hate Baylis and Harding. The quality is really poor and shower gels never lather up. Give me 'bog standard' Radox, Nivea, Dove any day.

Although tbf Christmas isn't Christmas without being gifted one of their ubiquitous sets, forever destined for charity...

Ihaveabranchupmybauble · 26/11/2020 17:52

I'm allergic to that crap

MercyBooth · 26/11/2020 18:00

I like Baylis and Harding. Two years ago i had their Midnight Fig and Pomegranate hand wash in the bathroom. This year it will be Cranberry Martini.

MrsDThomas · 26/11/2020 21:03

For the 1st time in years (about 20!) i wont get any🍾 not seeing BIL (lockdown has its pros) so No B&H!

I’m putting up the bunting!

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 26/11/2020 21:07

I thought of MN and its hatred of B&H when I saw this ad. They've got some front tbh with that slogan. It's nice enough but at the end of the day, it's just handwash!

mnahmnah · 26/11/2020 21:14

I love the handwash. But apparently it means I like their whole range, as MIL gets me a huge set every Christmas Smile.

MsAdoraBelleDearheartVonLipwig · 26/11/2020 21:51

I had a Christmas one once. It had a very pretty bottle.

TheWelshposter · 26/11/2020 23:13

On the other extreme I've just seen a 500ml bottle of Jo Malone handwash for sale on their website for £52. Who buys it?!?!?!
