I had a car go into the boot of our car and it is currently being repaired. We are having a dispute with the garage and this is why I am asking for this test.

If you have a keyless drive Ford C max
If you open your boot and have your key in your pocket.. Does the car lock?

IF it does lock how long from you opening it until it locks?

I am here just talking having the boot open and no doors open.

Ours never used to but the garage is claiming this is a normal Feature of it. & that it doesn't needs fixing. However, I cant put Ddog into the boot without it locks and I do not believe that to be right.

I have a Ford C max and can help but can you tell me what you want me to do.

I have 3 options on the key - doors+boot open, boot open, all locked. Which opening one do you want?

Actually I was thinking of the other car. This is my key.

What is it you want me to test?

If you have a Ford C max could you do some unofficial testing for me please?

@IsFinnRogersDead

Thank you what I need to know is. When autolock is active and you open the car to get into the boot. Opening ONLY the boot (say loading the car up before going away -or putting the dog into the boot) all the 4 doors are closed.

Does the car lock itself whilst the boot is still open?

So unlock the car with the key, open the boot, then do nothing else and see if the doors lock automatically?

Enko · 26/11/2020 15:21

Yes please

Nothing.

What's supposed to happen?

Enko · 26/11/2020 20:37

Thank you! You are a star.. THAT is what is supposed to happen but we are currently in an argument with the garage that is meant to fix the car for us. They claim its normal that it locks on us after about 30 seconds. despite us having the key close by. I will phone back tomorrow and demand it gets fixed.

Just posting to concur. Ours doesn’t automatic lock either

You have keyless entry by the sound of things. If you approach the boot with the keys on your person, and open it at the boot handle, the 4 doors will be locked and you have access to the boot. When you shut the boot and walk away with the key, the boot will lock.

Is this not happening?
