Please talk to me about food processors

I recently asked a similar question about coffee machines and the responses were really helpful so I'm hoping you good people can also help me out with my search for a food processor/mixer (which is what I've decided I'm asking DH for Christmas, but I would prefer to tell him the exact one I want otherwise he will probably pick a random one that doesn't do everything I want/need).

There seem to be so many different types and you can spend between £50-£500 it seems and I don't really understand the differences. I'd like one no more than £100 ideally, if it's more I could ask DM to chip in as she is also often stuck on Xmas gifts for me!

Main things I'd use it for would be 1) baking - making cakes, mixing dough, whipping cream etc. 2) blending soups and smoothies 3) random other bits like whizzing up breadcrumbs or whatever. I don't make a lot of fancy recipes so I think I'm unlikely to need all of the 47 attachments most of them seem to come with?!

Any recommendations please? Thanks :-)
