I am suspicious that my 16 year old DD is vaping. Last week she came home after meeting a friend and I smelt a very sweet, candy sort of smell on her. The next day I found a Juul in her bedroom. When I asked her about it she said it belonged to her friend who had given it to DD in order to hide it from her mum. The friend had had a big row with her mum and was afraid of making things worse if her mum found out about the vape. DD was adamant it wasn’t hers and said she was giving it back to her friend the next day but she did admit to having tried a few puffs of it.
We spoke about vaping and the dangers of it, especially as she has asthma, and she promised she wouldn’t do it again. However, I’ve now just found a Juul usb charger in her room. I don’t know what to do? She’ll probably try and pin it on her friend again. Should I Ground her? Stop pocket money? Any advice please?
