My landlord has served me notice

I knew this was coming as he wants to sell the house but he's served 2 months (periodic tenancy)
I have responded politely and pointed out that the coronavirus act states that 6 months notice needs to be given. Have I completely got that right? I don't want to look like a prick.
Thanks

Yep, it is in force until the 31st March 2021. The letter in this link is quite informative

Section 21 notices served after August 29th need a minimum 6 month notice period.

I guess your LL is going through the motions without checking the updated legislation.

I hope you waited until after the anniversary of their mistake, as then it's 7 months really, as they can't serve again until the next.
