Dark shadows under child's eyes

6 year old DD often has huge shadows under her eyes. She is naturally very pale which makes them more obvious but would shadows like this worry you? And if so what would you do about it?
She is home from school at the moment self isolating because of a covid case in her class so she shouldn't really be that tired and the shadows aren't unusual for her.

Do other family members have similar? Everyone in DH's immediate family always seem to have dark circles and bags. DS is the same but DD seems to take after me. DS always looks knackered! MIL told me once that when SIL was little, her teacher had a word with MIL to check SIL was getting enough sleep.

This is a perfectly cheerful and well-rested DS! Poor kid is always going to look like he's had a big night out...

My DS is exactly the same, I'm very pale too and used to get asked by the teachers when I was at school if I was ill..... nope, just naturally look like death warmed up. Grin

I'd say it's nothing to worry about as long as they eat and sleep ok, maybe make sure they take a multivitamin if they don't already.

Me and all my children have this.
So did my mum.

The amount of times I've been asked by teachers over the years if they've had enough sleep and I've had to point out my own eyes. It's the shape, slightly sunken under the eye and the skin is thin, making it look dark.

The bags go as you get older but there's nothing you can do about the sunken dark circles.

I used to wear concealer but now I can't be arsed and I've unbraced the 'just got dug up' look.

My DS does. He is very pale and sometimes it shows more vividly. However, he has a lot of severe food allergies and his consultant told us dark shadows (particularly blue tinged) was related to allergies and sinus congestion. Not always but for us it's true.

Me and children are all very pale, ds has dark circles under his eyes as do i and I'm not worried. Could be an underlying allergy. My ds has horrible hay-fever and they always look worse when his hay fever is really bad

My daughters have this and I have had the same my whole life, at least as an adult you can slap on the make up! I think it's just (unlucky) genetics.

It can be a sign of low iron so it wouldn't hurt to get it checked out.

Some people do just have dark shadows though.
