Good quality curtains ?

I’ve put this on the home category but didn’t get an answer so hoping it’s okay to ask here

Where can I get decent quality curtains ?!

I’ve looked in all the main high street home departments and Most are coming up thin and flimsy. The better quality heavy lined ones all seem to have old fashioned design.

I just want a simple neutral thermal blackout pair of curtains ! Is this possible with out having to go bespoke?

Try Amazon! Haven’t bought any curtains recently so can’t recommend a listing, but they’re usually good at stocking “just right” items you can’t find at high street stores

Wayfair might be worth a look, I'm not always convinced on their quality though.

Have a look at John Lewis (you may have already though), really not at all expensive. Our lounge curtains aren't blackout, but are pretty big, as the window is a 10ft width. They were a lot cheaper than Dunelm and better quality.

I've just bought 3 sets of bedroom curtains from John Lewis that I'm pleased with. They're a good weight, lined, and I think the designs are modern and attractive. I went for patterned ones with a different design for each room, because the decor in our new refurb is quite neutral and I wanted to give the rooms some character. They do have a some plain styles in a reasonable range of colours as well.
I looked at curtains in M&S. They have plain thermal blackout curtains that might be the sort of thing you are looking for. According to the feedback the quality is good though the colour range is fairly limited.

Some of the online curtain/blinds/fabric shops will also make them. So order samples then order curtain, or make you own.

I got some navy blue ones from Next for DS bedroom. Seem to be okay.

Dunelm have some fantastic ones.

Try B&Q. I got blackout curtains for our bedroom from there. They sell them singly which was really handy for me as we have 3 windows in our bedroom. Good quality and a good price.

Sometimes charity shops can surprise you. Got some really good ones at some of them.

We’ve got some lovely ones from Ikea. Genuinely blackout, very long. They are a charcoal grey but they do other colours.

These ones. We also got the curtain hooks though so they are on a proper curtain runner.

Honestly they’re great. I’m so pleased we got them - we needed the full length of 250cm and bespoke ones are so expensive. They’ve got lots of different colours not just the ones I linked.

Blinds2go/curtains2go have literally hundreds of fabrics to choose from. Can't comment on quality though. You can get blackout or thermal lining, but not both.

I recently bought made to measure curtains lined with blackout & thermal lining in a plain fabric for my living room. Very happy with the quality.
