Electric pressure cooker - any recommendations?

So... my pressure king pro melted today (please don’t ask... oh ok you twisted my arm - so my DS decided to cook...).

Should I get the same or are these Instant Pots I hear about very good?

Love my Instant Pot - made beef rendang in it on Saturday and it was delicious. Use for bolognese, chilli, soup, casseroles, cooking whole chickens and gammon joints. Costco had them in a couple of weeks ago for £69, and there might be a good deal on them this week.

Mmmmmm. I think I am convinced! It has so many more programmes than the old one. The big version has a sous vide it I can’t ever imagine using that! I don’t have loads of space anyway so the 3l will need to do.

So far he has melted a chunk of the cable on my juicer, same on the iron, melted a pan and several plastic spoons. I thought I was bad!

I love my Ninja Foodi. It is a pressure cooker/slower cooker but also air fryer.

I think I use it every day. Can cook whole chicken in it and cooks food from frozen. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I started off with a PKP, which did the job but died within a year. I replaced it with an Instant Pot, which feels much sturdier, and I’ve now got 2 - a 6L plus a 3L for side dishes, yoghurt etc.

I have an instant pot, no complaints. In fact a family member ordered one for herself after I cooked her a dish in mine.

Ordered - it’s coming tomorrow! I am very excited (no I don’t get out much these days).

So what’s fun to make with it? Did I really see a yoghurt option?

Yoghurt is really, really easy if you use UHT milk.

yes to the yogurt...I do mine in jars, over night 13-14 hours and it is so thick

risotto! ...do use your saute function to start it off, sweat onions/garlic and toast the rice in some butter, deglaze with wine etc... as you would in a pan, and you will not know the difference between it and one you have slaved over on the hob.

cheesecake...and put elasticated trouser on your Christmas List.

Learn how to do PIP (pot in pot) cooking and you can make a curry and the rice at the same time ...there's a couple of excellent Butter Chicken recipes that are very straightforward to do

and if you like to bake bread you can prove the dough in or over the pot with it on the lowest yoghurt setting....this is an absolute boon to me in my freezing cold kitchen!

It had yogurt in it all day, then did beef stew and dumplings in half an hour.

Made lemon curd yesterday which we will have with yogurt for dessert

Dumpling! Now you are talking. I haven’t had a dumpling in years.
