Where can I get a free branch? (Exciting thread alert)

I would like a branch or trunk approx 6" diameter.
For my catio project.
I live near many trees but I'm not sure if I can just take one from the wooded areas so where would one acquire a legit branch?
I've called a couple of saw mills etc but they don't have small ones.
Any ideas please oh wise mnetters?

Did also ask a tree surgeon who cut down a neighbours tree but they sell the wood they cut down.

Do you have a local Facebook/Nextdoor/Freecycle page that you could post on asking if anyone has such a thing you could collect (or even cut for them?)

have a nice woodland walk after a breezy few days and just bring one home.

I had a lovely one for ages in the garden I was going to spray it white, set it in a bucket and tart it up for christmas, dh and the kids broke it up for kindling.
It was really branchy and well proportioned too.

I'm not a fbook user so will ask DS, good idea about offering to cut it I've a variety of saws so can be flexible.

I was put off 'collecting' one last month after I asked a farmer and she said no Sad
