Boss wants present ideas

DD's boss is fabulous - appreciates and respects her. His wife is absolutely lovely too. DD is in her 20's. He wants to get her a 'proper' Christmas present, as opposed to perfume which she has previously received and really appreciated. During the course of this year she has worked continuously, and I think he wants to recognise that.

But she doesn't want to say 'I would like X' as it's too specific, and she doesn't know what budget she's working too.

Any ideas of what she could say, that would give a broad choice depending on what he likes/wants to spend?

Maybe suggest a couple of her favourite shops?

helloxhristmas · 23/11/2020 11:31

Sounds like all sorts of inappropriate but a voucher for x y z if she has to suggest something.

This is odd. A generic gift is fine or a bonus if you want to show appreciation.

100% not inappropriate, although I did warn DD there would be some who thought that.

Thanks for the suggestions though.

If she drinks, then just say what sort she likes eg Gin or Red Wine

Then it's up to him how much he spends on it

ajandjjmum · 23/11/2020 11:48

That's exactly what she wants to do Mooserp - he won't get her a voucher. Thank you.

Why is inappropriate? Hmm.

God forbid anyone praises someone for hard work.

It*

Mooserp · 23/11/2020 12:28

I don't think it is inappropriate. Food and drink are perfectly normal presents to receive from a boss IMO

What about a household item like a nice blender/smoothie maker?
