Has anyone ever joined a dating agency? Would this be a stupid thing to do?

I’m so deflated with online dating. I’ve found a dating agency with an 800 pound fee. They have good reviews but I’m always sceptical they could be fake.

Anyone had experience of this? I’m not sure it would be better than online dating tbh!

I did this in my 30s, and while everyone they introduced me to was 'worthwhile', a lot of them were completely not my type. It's very demoralising knowing you've spent about £100 for an evening with someone when it's ick at first sight. Irritatingly, because of the supply-demand problem, a guy I met years later said they'd given him a free membership. Also, in my experience as soon as you turn 40 they treat you like you're radioactive not that I'm bitter or anything
