Dd puts her lunchbox on the ground in the playground and the base is filthy. Has anyone dared put one in the machine? If not, how do you clean yours?

I regularly wash a smash one I do it in a quick 20 min wash on a low temp. So would give it a go if you don’t mind taking the risk

TheDuckSaysMoo · 22/11/2020 16:30

Thanks Irish. It's so dirty there's no way a wash with a cloth will help.

I've never done it, but I have friends who put it in both the machine machine and dishwasher. Apparently it comes out fine.

TheDuckSaysMoo · 22/11/2020 16:33

It's in the machine Shock. I'll try to remember to report back in 30 mins.

I always wash my daughters on a 30 once a week and then hand it to drip dry either outside or over the bath :-)

stickygotstuck · 22/11/2020 16:38

Any lunchbag will It will be fine in the washing machine as long as it's reasonably if it's well made.

I washed DC's every half term, lasted trough primary school and still going strong.

Wankerchief · 22/11/2020 16:40

Ive done this for 15 years and they've always been fine

Cant stand a mucky looking lunchbox

CatFaceCats · 22/11/2020 16:46

At least once a week! Bloody yoghurt mess everywhere since they can’t leave rubbish at school.

TheDuckSaysMoo · 22/11/2020 18:33

It survived the machine but all the stains are still there. 30 degrees was not a match for the playground muck. I'll step it up a gear to 40 and add vanish next week. Thanks all.

I've washed a Disney one (cloth type cool bag thingy with Moana on the front) at 60 degrees a couple of times. Survived and came out very clean!
