Help needed B&Q exchange/ returns?

Have tried googling this but no joy, hoping someone on here might know!

Recently I bought 3 tins of paint at B&Q in a 3 for 2 offer. We were in a rush, meant to pick up 2x colour A and 1x colour B, but took 3 of A instead.

I still have the receipt, will I be able to take it back and exchange it for a tin of colour B?

Anyone?

The refund policy is usually printed on receipts, how recently?m

I don't see why not if it's unopened/unused, it's a mistake that you could make with anything and you'd be able to return anything else that you bought in error! I'm sure I've taken paint back to somewhere else before

Yes they’re pretty good at returns ime. Took some paint back the other day, it was 3-4 months since we bought it and had no receipt. It was completely crap paint (valspar primer/undercoat and it was the consistency of skimmed milk) Was given a credit note and allowed to exchange no problems.
