Your late 20s

What were you doing or what do you hope to be doing?
I turned 28 yesterday and I'm just wondering really.

I had DS1 just after I turned 29.

I got married at the start of my 27th year and had a baby 9 months later.
Not planned but I was very happy.

Oh hey! I just turned 29. Will follow because why not.

Roughly a month before my 29th birthday we bought our house, five days after my birthday I had my lovely ds.

Happy birthday op, we all do things differently and have different hopes and expectations .

I moved to another country, worked a bit then got my masters.

At 28 I was just finishing uni, getting divorced and moving counties to start my new career.

Has DC 2 at 28 and moved abroad when she was 3months old

By 28 I already had two children in primary school and got married that year.

I had a 3 year old when I was 28 and just finished my nursing degree

I was travelling after a very painful breakup. It was a brilliant year where I learnt so much about life and myself.
Coming back was unbelievably shit though!

Got married and managwdcto secure a good job after years of precarious fixed term contracts.

Fwiw at 28 i got married and was very happy because DH got the snip 😁 Other than that not much really!

At 28 I was happily living with Dd1. She was 13 at the time.
I would go on a works night out and meet DH. Our lives changed completely after meeting him.

Married and trying for a baby.

At 28 I had a young DD and was trying for another. We had our 2nd the year after.

Five years out of university with an MSc, just about to launch a freelance consultancy career that saw me through the next ten years or so before I went back into employment.

What exactly is it that you want to know, OP?

Mum to toddler, pregnant with DC2. Teaching part time.

At 27 I had DS and at 29 joined the police having left my teaching career. Now 54.

I was trying to be a lesbian. Not very good at it. Lived in a huge house share. Didn't become me until in my 30s. Did have my career sorted though.

Hey Up! I am a totally different generation to you. What was "right" for me then is not what I would want for my daughter now.

I married at 26 (after 9 years of living together), had a daughter at 28 and a second child at 31. Biologically every thing can wait so much longer nowadays. I do not want my daughter having to feel she HAS to settle for a Father for her child. It can wait.

Like most things, you tend to get better at it the more you practice.

Having lots of responsibility-free fun! That’s what your 20s - early and late - are for.

You have the entire rest of your life - literally decades - for settling down and being responsible.

I got together with DH a few days after I turned 30.

Id just met my now DH after leaving an abusive relationship the year before, was working at an organisation I loved but in a frustratingly easy role which they wanted to keep me in with little chance of progression, and was in the process of buying a flat using shared ownership. 28 was when my life started on the track to where I am now (at 34)

Engaged at 26. Shared a flat with bf
Turned 27 just before Millennium.
Pregnant at 27, right before getting married. Had first baby just before 28
Bought house at 28 and became pregnant again. 2nd child at 29.5.
Ffs didn't realise how much I went through at that time!!
3rd baby at 32. Separated by 36.
10'years of chaos. 3 fine humans as a result. (Since happily resettled but not remarried and no more children!)
