UK holidays for a young family

We have a trip booked to the lakes/centre Parcs next year but we are looking for a long weekend somewhere as well. Two adults, 17 month old and a just turned 4 year old.

I just have no idea where to start! We originally wanted to go to abroad but that's out the window now, and I honestly don't know where is best for really young children. We considered Edinburgh but the pram wouldn't do well with the cobbled streets!

Where is best in the UK for young kids?

Seaside.
Which does mean a choice from an awful lot of places.
Which part of the Country are you traveling from, as I wouldn't want to go more than a couple of hours travel for a weekend away.

Travelling from the north west, from the seaside Smile

I do want to visit Devon but it's a little too far with a baby in a car seat. So somewhere up north!

Kids love a caravan holiday at that age. Or glamping. Somewhere they can run about & meet some other kids & perhaps a beach too.

Not been up north so can't suggest a location.

Pembrokeshire. Tenby is lovely. Folly Farm is fab for kids.

Friends have been on holidays where they have cabins in a kind of petting farm. The children get to meet and feed the animals on a daily basis and it's all geared towards young children.

Not all the streets in Edinburgh are cobbled. And some that are, even have paths alongside them
