I like The Handmaid's Tale, Brave New World on Sky, Hunger Games, Black Mirror. No zombies please! Any other suggestions?

Gemma Malley - The Declaration, and sequels.

Ready Player One, the film is good but the book is better. Ready Player Two is released on 24th.

Have you read Brave New World? The book is so much better than the TV series!

Pinkallium · 21/11/2020 17:54

Cloud Atlas

Bluewavescrashing · 21/11/2020 17:56

I've got Brave New World in paperback to read next. I'm currently reading The Choice

The Chysalids by John Wyndham

Crunchymum · 21/11/2020 17:57

Most obvious answer is Nineteen Eighty-Four

My all time favourite book!! Maybe a bit too prophetic at the moment though.

Gancanny · 21/11/2020 17:57

Snowpiercer, season one is on Netflix. It's grim because it's a dystopia so there are plenty of unhappy people but not a horror.

Lifeaintalwaysempty · 21/11/2020 17:58

Utopia. Original British version not the US remake.

The carhullan army by Sarah hall.

Fahrenheit 451.

Actually, that reminds me: I must get off the internet for today.

(And it was written decades before the internet was even thought of ...)

Bluewavescrashing · 21/11/2020 17:59

I've read 1984 but not for ages. Could be worth a re-read.

What happened to Monday? (It’s a film on Netflix)

You have two different snowpiecers. You have the tv program on Netflix or the original film on prime

Bagelsandbrie · 21/11/2020 18:01

Man in the high castle on Prime (or the book)

BogRollBOGOF · 21/11/2020 18:05

She also wrote The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August. Not quite a dysutopia, but it is an alternative situation and the protagonist has to save the world.
Nifflerbowtruckle · 21/11/2020 18:10

Philip K Dick's Electric Dreams. It is on All4 and you can buy the book.

Pretty much everything by John Wyndham.

BluTangClan · 21/11/2020 19:27

JG Ballard - High Rise. (Book) there's a film if it too, not sure it had great reviews though.

LangClegsInSpace · 21/11/2020 19:37

Netfix - The Barrier

It's in Spanish, the English dubbed version is terrible so stick with the subtitles if you can.
