Lockdown end on 2nd December? Or 3rd?

Trying to plan something.

When they say lockdown is until the 2nd December, does that mean shops can reopen on the 2nd? Or the 3rd?

Of course this is assuming it isn’t extended.

It will be extended or by another name ie tier 4

They’re not concrete plans. Whilst it is possible it could be extended I think much of the thought surrounding this is hysteria, and my area won’t become tier 4.

I thought it was intended to stop on the 4th December.

It is 4 weeks from Thu to Wed. So is planned to end evening of 2nd and shops will reopen 3rd.

It’s always been the 2nd, I just wasn’t sure if this included the 2nd so reopening would be on the 3rd.

Sky and BBC were reporting on Thursday that lockdown will likely be extended until Xmas eve, then people will be allowed 5 days over Xmas to socialise.

That’s all speculation, and only really from a couple of scientists that want that to happen.

PHE even said one of them misspoke.

It’s besides the point anyway really as that’s not what I was asking.

Don't plan anything you cannot cancel I think. My guess is not all the things required to shut on November 5th will be allowed to re-open.

That isn't what the article says. The extra 25 days of restrictions that would be needed arent coming before Christmas, they would come after. So lockdown ends on 2nd, move to tier system from the 3rd to 22nd December, 22nd - 28th December relaxed for xmas, then the 25 days extra needed would be applied after xmas. Probably after new year.

None of above is confirmed, it's just what that article is saying.
