Morning all! What are you up to today?

I'm just waiting for the washer to finish then off up to get dressed when I've set a second load of uniform going.

Need to nip to Lidl for packed lunch bits - might double up to avoid a trip next weekend.

I'll iron school shirts later on, and help dd2 turn some loo roll tubes into snowflakes. DD1 said "maybe" to joining in when I asked her last night.

We'll make a curry for tea I think.

I'd like to start a new crochet project (Christmas stockings) but not convinced I have enough wool for 2 so may do something else instead.

A moochy kind of day really.

What about all of you? :)

Ooh I'd like to know how to turn loo roll tubes into snowflakes! I have a load I was going to bin today but the DC would enjoy something Christmassy.

We are disconnecting old oven for new one tomorrow, and maybe a walk.

lucysmam · 21/11/2020 09:36

@FirstPost99 pin.it/73RA6LC I'm not sure how well they're going to work but it'll fill an hour or two :)

Enjoyed a delicious lie in until 8.30 and now kids are playing Minecraft while I'm on hold to ikea after adding too many items to my basket and not checking in my hurry to check out! It's been 48mins so far...but I'm enjoying the ABBA music Grin

Then I'll stick a load of washing on, shower and drag us all out for a walk somewhere. Back for lunch and a film then potter about still unpacking and settling in after moving 2 weeks ago. Sooo nice to have no work or home school (closed due to outbreak)!!

TheWoollybacksWife · 21/11/2020 09:37

You have been bitten by the crochet bug, haven't you?

I'm just about to get dressed and then I'm going to clean the bathroom and the downstairs loo. I've got a Tesco shop to pick up after lunch and I need to put dinner in the slow cooker.

I need to strip the hot airer of Thursday's dry washing and get another wash on with DS's uniform and any other random bits I can find in the baskets.

I'm knitting a pair of socks for DD2 for Christmas and I'm two thirds of the way through the first sock so I hope to crack on with that later.

Work

Bluewavescrashing · 21/11/2020 09:39

Cleaning out the bunnies

Changing human bedding, several loads of washing

Walk to the park

Watching a film later. Nothing exciting!

lucysmam · 21/11/2020 10:27

Woolly it seems so! There's a Christmas tree I want to try, that looks like it'd make nice bunting. & little ornaments for the tree (but I don't think there's time for it all this year Grin ). & the stockings would go nicely against the fireplace...so many things to try out!

Thank you FirstPost99 for requesting the loo roll instructions and thank you lucysmam for supplying them Grin might try those out later too!

I am in between bouts of work atm so have got all the laundry and household jobs done during the week so in theory we can enjoy ourselves! But in reality of course there’s a pandemic Confused

DH has just gone out to shop for allotment supplies and we’re heading there later on. I also want to plant some sweet peas at home for overwintering, read some of Harry Potter to DD (she’s clamouring for it, Harry is about to go into the chamber of secrets), and am looking forward to Strictly later too. Blackpool week 🥳

IhateBoswell · 21/11/2020 10:55

I’m going to tidy up and do some painting later (the art kind, not decorating).

IntoP20 · 21/11/2020 10:57

My toddler is currently napping. Hoping to drag us all out for a walk this afternoon and then a Chinese takeaway this evening.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 21/11/2020 11:17

DH did the shopping for the week and used up some payback coupons to get points. I have been down and up our 102 steps about 5 times to get all the stuff up.
DS is actually working, DD is acting as instructor on revision techniques
and I do the cleaning, laundry etc as every weekend.

Temp's down to zero.

riotlady · 21/11/2020 11:18

It was my birthday yesterday so I’m attempting to stretch out the birthday feeling! DD is out with her grandparents so I’m going to throw some washing on and lounge in my pjs playing the new crash bandicoot game (bday present!). DP is working tonight so I’ve got some oven pizza for tea :)

hotcrosswhat · 21/11/2020 13:11

I love these threads Smile I've just cleaned the bathroom, there's some jacket potatoes in the oven, then some more chores for me after lunch. DH is taking down the last of the wallpaper in the soon-to-be nursery Bear and will sand the walls ready to paint later today/tomorrow!

whispers also we're getting the Christmas stuff down from the loft this evening!!

MillieMoodle · 21/11/2020 13:49

I went for a walk to the shop to get bread and milk first thing, and have been putting the Christmas tree up this morning. DC have been playing board games, DH popped out to Tesco to pick up some food for packed lunches next week. We've just finished lunch and I'm going to finish the tree this afternoon and do some cleaning. DH is going to watch the football on TV and the DC are playing on the Xbox. Steak and chips for dinner, steak (and wine) dropped round by my lovely parents on their way back from the butcher this morning. We will watch I'm a Celebrity when the DC are in bed. My kind of Saturday!

Topsy44 · 21/11/2020 14:00

I love these threads too! Moochy day for us also. Usual washing of towels and bedding today and set my Eufy off upstairs. Robot hoover is still a bit of a novelty as only got him a couple of months ago as a treat for getting through lockdown with relevant sanity.

DD is currently watching the Nut Job on tv and I keep thinking I could do with cleaning out a couple of kitchen cupboards while I've got the time (as my Mum is sure to inspect them at Xmas!!) but the coziness of our lounge and Mumsnet is beckoning me.

ThePinkGuitar · 21/11/2020 14:05

After verrrryyyy lazy morning (much needed!) I’ve cleaned, hoovered and mopped downstairs. Done washing, going to do ironing. Then go out for long walk with the kids once Dh back from work.
Saturday night is all the family sat in front of strictly with hot choc and whipped cream perfect 👌

lucysmam · 21/11/2020 14:33

Snowflakes are going surprisingly well! We're just having a cuppa then the glue & glitter are coming out

Morning all! What are you up to today?

Pipandmum · 21/11/2020 14:41

Well I've managed to feed the rabbits and let the dogs out and disagree with my son over money and look at houses on rightmove for a couple hours. Currently lying in bed, a bit hungry now, thinking I can at least take the laundry down with me so it's not a totally non productive day.
The snowflakes look great.

movingonup20 · 21/11/2020 15:01

Bored, Grin. Washer is on, did the washing up from yesterday but feeling lethargic, toying with ordering fish and chips for tea (need to book a slot)

MouseholeCat · 21/11/2020 15:03

It's still morning here (US), but we're about to head to the farmers market to get our veg box and some goodies for Thanksgiving. Then we're going Christmas decoration shopping. I'm restoring an old dresser and so I'll continue working on that for a bit. We'll probably watch a film this evening.

FirstPost99 · 21/11/2020 19:23

Thanks @lucysmam. We never got round to it in the end, but yours look good!

lucysmam · 21/11/2020 19:51

FirstPost99, they were surprisingly easy (dd2 tends to doubt she's able to do things & gets quite huffy usually). I'm going to save some more tubes for a 'rainy day' between now and Christmas :)
