Shed info needed

DH wants to build a shed because he is that age. We’ve tried to find out if we need planning permission but can’t get clarification (from the computer expert -I’m not a planning officer- at the end of the phone at the local planning office) as to whether a building line and principle elevation includes land in front of but to the side of the building. I’ll try to draw a diagram.

How big a shed is it going to be?

It is the size that determines if planning permission is required, as long as you are not a designated area.

The shed will be 8’ by 6’ max. He wants the gutters for the water butt!

You don't need planning permission for a shed. Unless it's 2 storey! 😁
