Gabriel in a Cabbage Van

Oldies here will get this but for those who don’t, a number of years ago a MN’er received their Christmas Ocado order from Jesus in a cabbage van.

Well today, although not yet advent(I dont think) I am getting my Ocado order from Gabriel in a cabbage van. I think, as a result, advent has started now, so I’m off to drink Sherry and behave badly.

We had Rudolph in the onion van a couple of weeks ago. Just stretching his legs in preparation i’m guessing☺️

I had the Percy Pig van! I was far more excited than I should have been about it. It was a lady driver but sadly she wasn't called Penny

I am more than jealous Every time I get my delivery I tell the driver how disappointed I am that theyre not in the Percy Pig van Where are you located? Does anyone know how many (and where) Percy vans?

I had a visit from Gabriel as well earlier, but he was in an Apple van.

Are they delivery vans painted as those things?

Morrisons is boring. Just get the reg number or the occasional tractor van.

You ladies have made my evening. I will be so jealous if I don't get a percy pig on Sunday. (I have got my free shortbread on it's way....don't tell hubby it's free as I'm wrapping them for him for Xmas.)

However if I get Gabriel I'm drinking immediately even though it will be 7:30 in the morning....

Oooh I had Joseph in the cabbage van the other day, Jesus is sending his DF on his errands now

The DTwatCats only react when they see a Waitrose or Ocado man walking past the window - they've learned that they bring bags of awesomeness, whereas Tesco/Sainsbury's/Asda drivers are of no significance to them.

They're nearly as bad as us for being able to tell what supermarket delivery has pulled up outside based purely upon the sound of engine, doors and parking position.

We both work. We both theoretically have lives. But we also know the specific sounds of each delivery service.

Introducing mere Transits will confuse us, as that's normally the sound of Amazon. Although, if it's travelling at less 70 miles an hour before slamming the anchors on, running out and hammering on doors as though they're the Drugs Squad, I suppose there's still a way to know it's Waitrose instead.

Well, based on the rest of 2020 I guess we shouldn’t be too surprised

I had Dino in the Lemon Van in the summer. DH was clearly having a boring day at work and set to on Photoshop. The driver was well chuffed to have his own image and requested a copy

Watching vicariously as I drive myself to the click n collect.

And the drivers apparently draw straws NOT to have the Percy Pig Van, as they spend half the day waiting for people to finish taking their selfies!
