So, I’ve never watched I’m a celebrity... should I?

I once saw a small bit on Gogglebox, some bloke with a spider in his mouth.
No.
That’s a no from me.
But people are raving about it, am I missing something in this programme?
Also strictly, never watched that either.

I know these have famous people in them but I have to admit that I don’t actually know who most of them are.
I suspect it helps to enjoy seeing people eat spiders...

If it doesn't appeal to you, then of course you shouldn't.

I'm not really a fan of the 'celebrity does something' format, but if other people like it, then good for them.

JimmyTheBrave · 19/11/2020 10:25

I never watched The X Factor; at the time I was the only person in my work not to watch it. (Is it still going??!) I just never liked the format, snigger at all those delusion people in the early eps etc.

Each to their own I guess.

x2boys · 19/11/2020 11:07

Do you think you would enjoy " celebrities" doing silly things? Or is this just a thread to sneer at people who do enjoy watching it? Incidentally I have never watched Game of Thrones ,but I'm aware a great many people do and enjoy it .....

I always start off watching it and have lost interest by the end of the series. If you don't like the look of it then don't watch it.

Bluntness100 · 19/11/2020 11:11

I don’t understand the question, if it’s a no from you then don’t watch it

The trick to watching tv is to watch what appeals to you. Not someone else

Confused

I love I'm a Celebrity but I didn't start watching it until 2011 and before that I always wondered what all the fuss was about ( for some reason I always thought it would be similar to Big Brother and I have never wanted to watch that ) . Started watching I'm A Celeb and it's now my fav programme of the year.
Never watched Strictly or Game if Thrones either.

IhateBoswell · 19/11/2020 12:02

I’ve always watched it, but this recent one is shite. I wouldn’t bother.

ShinyGreenElephant · 19/11/2020 12:05

Do they still eat live insects and use rats etc as props, being pushed and shoved around? Me and DD love a bit of mindless reality TV but can't bear animal cruelty. Always been too scared to try it as I know it would really upset me to see animals being hurt. Its being filmed right by my mums caravan though so I would really quite like to try it if its 'safe' to

Redcrayons · 19/11/2020 12:07

Watch it, if it’s not for you, don’t watch it again. I enjoy it, it’s a bit daft and light easy viewing.

I’m sure there’s stuff you watch that other people don’t like. For instance, I can’t fathom the appeal of Gogglebox, it’s like watching paint dry. And you’ve seen one Bake off, you’ve seen them all. So I don’t watch them.

CosyQueen · 19/11/2020 12:43

No it’s shit- I wouldn’t bother

nosswith · 19/11/2020 12:55

No, there are better things to do and no doubtless better things to watch on tv at the same time.

You are unintentionally condoning drink driving if you so, as well.

Pickypolly · 19/11/2020 12:56

But I don’t want to miss out on some good telly which is all I’m clinging on to these dark nights!!
People absolutely rave about I’m a celebrity...there must be something in it.

I did watch game of thrones...bloody fantastic.
Blyth manor on the other hand, I was furious that my time had been utterly wasted on that bag of shite, I don’t want my time wasting if it’s crap.

And no, celebrity stuff isn’t my thing but would that matter if I don’t know who any of them are??

Yeah that’s the other thing, that bloody arsehole drink driving then springing back to normal life as if nothing happened makes my piss boil.
There’s a good reason right there to not bother.

Well just bloody watch it then.

LuckyAmy1986 · 19/11/2020 13:51

There is something in it, if you like that kind of thing which it sounds like you aren't.... I wouldn't bother if Ant McPartlin makes you that angry.

I personally love it but this year is a bit different, not as good IMO.

LuckyAmy1986 · 19/11/2020 13:51

don't not aren't!
