Anyone recommend a nanny agency

Hi, any help welcome please. I am looking for an after school nanny from early January at the latest. I am having no luck with childcare.co.uk - interviewed 2, who we thought were great, but seem not to want to work for us.

We are muddling along now, but I am starting a new job in January, and we cannot get by without childcare.

Can anyone recommend any agencies or other routes. I am not having any luck with childminders - 3 kids, so it is quite an ask for a CM in respect of availability.

We are in south birmingham.

I gave up on childcare.co.uk - everyone I interviewed was a complete time-waster and checking references was impossible. I decided I would rather pay an agency to do the checking given the amount of time I was spending doing it all myself.

I found a fantastic nanny through a local agency called Harmony At Home - I think I literally just googled nanny agency and had an hour's chat with the lady there. She then sent me CVs of three candidates, all vetted, and we offered one a job.

I've just had a google and there's a Harmony At Home office that covers the west midlands (I guess it's a franchise). Based on my experience they had lovely candidates and gave me great advice on pay and expectations as well. Our nanny was with us for years and though my kids are older now we are still friends.

Oh @Sivyer you need to start a new thread in Chat to get more responses - if you look up top of this thread, just under where it says Talk>>Chat, there is a link that says "Start a new thread in this topic". Click on that, give it a title that says something like "Outing ideas for girls 8 and 10 after lockdown" and then paste your message into the main message box.

And maybe tell people where you are located and what they've enjoyed in the past, to get some more targeted ideas! Good luck!!

I'm a nanny and found my latest job through Harmony at Home and they were fabulous. They really listened to the type of job I wanted and the hours I was looking for etc. I don't know what they're like from the point of view of the parents but if they were that thorough with me then it suggests they were only putting forward candidates who were genuinely interested in the position and the hours etc available.

Philippa (The Oxford based Harmony at Home staff member) was lovely and incredibly helpful!
