I'm 40, and my past 4 periods have been bang on day 18. I used to have them every 28 days, what could be causing the frequency any one please?

Perimenopause. Hormone changes. Your body having a last hurrah at fertility and rushing through cycles in the hope you'll get pregnant.

Yep, peri menopause. Great isn’t it 🥴

I'm changing my attitude to it by reading a book. The basic premise is, stop seeing it as bad and embrace this - it is our second spring, we get a new life from now on. Most of us are wiser, richer and more experienced. We know who we are and what we want. We dont have to take on everyone's problems. We are needed to steer the ship a little. Unconsciously, we are birthing a new part of life. What will we create with our experience and wisdom? We know to no longer give and give, we know to factor our own needs in a lot more now. We no longer rescue those who create their own problems. And we dont need to prove ourselves.

Enjoy! X

I’m going to slightly contradict you there and say that women of our age are battling through peri menopause, we’re working until 67, we’ve still got adult children living at home, and we’ve got ageing parents/in laws to care for.
Enjoy !

Peri menopause. I'm 40. Mine became more frequent and heavier from about 37. Now I seem to have a longer cycle (30ish days) followed by a shorter one (21 days). The good news is the actual periods are shorter and only last two days now. Grin

Fatted....that's definitely peri isn't it!

FlippertyGibbet....I'm sorry to hear that. I hope things ease for you. Re working longer tho, do you enjoy your work? I've changed direction in my field. I've long worked to support vulnerable people but aspects of it began to annoy me, specifically people who refuse to help themselves. So I stopped doing that and now support people who CANNOT help themselves, people with chronic mental health conditions. I love it. Theres no question that they need the support. So it no longer annoys me.
