Just venting really. Feeling a complete mixture of emotions after telephone parents evening tonight.
Relief because new teacher is seeing what we've seen with 9yo DD for years both negative and positive.
Upset because she's heading towards failing (in one area but if not addressed will hit the others)
Anger because we suspected this was happening and have had all attempts to get help fobbed off until now. They've shot her confidence so bad she has gone from a nearly greater depth in year 2 to not even being able to answer those same questions in year 5.
We've already been doing what they've suggested with her, so we know a lot of it is lack of confidence rather than lack of ability (though it's never been a strong point) which her teacher wasn't expecting us to say at all.
She loves her new teacher, is coming on really well with her confidence under her and I admire the fact that this one hasn't hidden anything from me so desperately trying not to shoot the messenger on this.
