I banged my head a week ago ...

And it still hurts. Straight into the side of the kitchen utility door as is slammed against my foot and into my skull/forehead/eyebrow.

At the time is steady myself and worked out if I was ok and went to work and put on a useless ice pack.

It was very tender to touch and had a headache but no huge lump. It hurt for days and still hurts today and is still tender to touch and I still have a headache and now a noticeable ridge in my brow.

Do I just need to wait it out?

No you need to get it checked out op. Lumps are ok, dents less ok.

GloGirl · 17/11/2020 21:53

No! Bloody hell.

You have a noticeable ridge in your brow? Can you explain that a little more?

ouchibangedmyhead · 17/11/2020 22:04

Ah ok - maybe a week is too long.

You can't see it but I can feel it. And it's sort of a vertical dent where I image in the corner/edge of the door hit me. Total idiot moment.

It's really hard to tell if it's a raised lump or a dent as convex/concave are difficult to differentiate by touch

I feel ok generally - except the headache.

Get checked out. You should have been already!

Cheesypea · 17/11/2020 22:11

It sounds like concussion op. Call your gp in the morning xx

ShesMadeATwatOfMePam · 17/11/2020 22:12

You need to be looked at.

BananaPie · 17/11/2020 22:16

Get it checked. Google subdural haematoma. It could be nasty.

ouchibangedmyhead · 17/11/2020 22:56

Will call gp in morning! Thanks all

I had a similar accident in the kitchen some years ago - I cut my finger rather badly, passed out and smashed my forehead on the edge of a worktop as I went down like a felled tree. This was in the early 1980's and the dent under my eyebrow is still there.

Hope your headache wears off soon.

GloGirl · 18/11/2020 14:28

Sorry when I said No i meant dont wait it out! Any update?

SkedaddIe · 18/11/2020 14:37

I agree you should get checked out.

I fainted and banged my head two weeks ago and managed to cut my head open by my eyebrow on my kitchen table. I am finding that I am occasionally still feeling dizzy and have a headache on and off everyday since.

So should you if you're still dizzy and headachey after a fortnight!
TheDogsMother · 18/11/2020 16:49

Please go and get it checked OP and ideally a scan. DH had subdural haematoma from bashing his head on a sloped ceiling.

lostandfound55 · 18/11/2020 17:16

@sueelleker I did go to a&e when it happened so presumed that this was normal?
