Purely on myself...I would book a personal.shopper and splurge on a new wardrobe. followed by having my hair professionally done.

In reality I'd end up blowing it on doing stuff with dd to compensate for her fuckwit of a father

One of those IPL hair things, a few pairs of shoes - trainers, nice boots, new PJ's, new dressing gown, slippers, a cleaner!

A new spinning wheel (yes another one!!) and a set of wool combing hackles. And more fibre with the small amount of change left over.

Assuming not being allowed to use for boring things like clearing debt and cannot spend on other people.

Hmmm

New clothes, my wardrobe is a bit tired. New shoes. £200 kindle vouchers so I can read what I want for a while.

Then would go home to the UK and visit my mum. (Magic universe with no travel restrictions and where breastfeeding clingy toddlers are fine with being left for a week with their dad). This would not actually cost very much so I'd spend the rest on food :o

Another one for a wardrobe revamp. How I look and who I feel like I am stopped bearing any resemblance to one another when kids came along and the competition for what to spend money on got a lot stiffer.

Finally lay flooring in my bedroom. Buy either a new bed frame or a new mattress (our king size bed broke and so we've had a king size mattress on a double bed frame for almost a year), replace the toaster that only half works. Replace the bathroom floor that still stinks of piss from the previous tenant no matter how much I clean it.

If I had 1k and was under strict instructions it had to be spent on me personally, not the flat or dc, I dunno. I never go to a hairdresser or have beauty things done. So... Tattoos I guess.

Then book a week off in a coastal, hot (not uk :)) country all by myself and the yarns :)
hopefully I'd have some left over for Lego.

I did have, earlier this year, for the first time ever. I spent the lot on personal training sessions. Got me fit and strong again after sliding into fat, middle-aged decrepitude. Really glad I did.
@ClaireP20 where did you go? Am just starting a new job and think I need an overhaul! Also - how long ago didn’t you do it / how long did it last?
Hi x I'm in Upminster (London/Essex borders) and went to my local GP, i saw a leaflet saying he did non surgical work of an evening! I was so scared, as I hate the frozen look, but my friend fessed up to having it and she looked amazing. He gave me a tiny local anaesthetist - he's a doctor so he could - and I didnt feel a thing! It lasts 2 years (the tear filler), although I had it a year ago and think I need it again. Nobody noticed at all, other than to say 'you look great'...sshhhh xx

If it had to all just me on me. I get my nails and eyebrows done once a fortnight (usually), so I'd put the money away to pay for my appointments for the next few months (exactly how long for would depend on how much other things cost).

A few years ago for our second wedding anniversary my husband and I went to see a show and stayed in an amazing 5 star hotel. We loved it and said we'd go back for a significant wedding anniversary in the future. At first we said 5 years (didn't want to wait too long), which would have been this April. Obviously that wasn't possible. So we are now hoping for 10 years. So I'd put the money for that away now so we had it ready.

Finally years ago I got my hair permanently straightened and I loved it. If I could I'd get it done again. Not a Brazilian blow dry or keratin treatment (not sure if they're the same thing or different? that last 4- 6 months or so I've been told. This was permanent Japanese hair straightening that that took about 3 hours to do, it cost between £200-£300 and lasted until it grew out completely, which was a good year and a half maybe more. I hope I don't offend anyone, that's what it was called at the time and I'm not aware of any other name for it. Unfortunately I can't find anywhere that does that treatment, only the others which I'm not wanting to have. But if possible I'd have that done again. Was the best money ever spent. I loved it.

‘Stuff’ isn’t really my thing, and fashion definitely isn’t, so for me it would be a holiday, every time.

Obviously not easy at the moment, but when the world finally gets back to something resembling normality, I fancy a trip to Morocco or Sicily.
