Does anyone know anything about the housing register?

I know it differs from council to council but I’m getting impatient and any help would be much appreciated :)
DH got a VM from the council on Friday just saying to call regarding our application. I have tried to call said person a few times this morning and just met with a answer phone. Have left a message so hopefully she will come back to me.
The below image is from the housing portal website. I’m thinking if our application is closed then it means we weren’t even legible and she was just calling with bad news? :(
Thank you in advance

If you have just made an application, it might be that they have refused it for some reason. Councils have all sorts of criteria that differ from area to area, but it might be based on local connection, whether you have particular housing needs, income etc. They should state clearly the reason your application has not been accepted and you should check how to ask for a review of the decision if you think it's wrong. They should put the reasons for the decision in writing (letter, email or message on the system).

If you applied a while ago and have been on the register for some time, it might be that you have to review your details and confirm you want to stay on the register (I think most councils ask you to do this once a year). If you missed this, they might have closed your application.

It's really difficult to advise without knowing the policy for the council you have applied to, but they should inform you of the reasons for all the decisions they have made.

Without knowing your circumstances we can’t even speculate on mn

Also, if they have asked for some extra information or documents etc to support your application and you haven't provided them, they may have closed the application as they can't process it without that info or supporting evidence.
