A ‘what would you do’ thread

Bought an item a little while ago for £115 Purchased warranty with it at £11.50. It’s a useful item and we could use more than one in the house.

The item didn’t arrive. Multiple phone calls, emails, and promises from the retailer to get it sorted to no avail (this drives me a little crazy I’ll admit. Mistakes happen I know but I’m busy, and having to chase people up repeatedly hits a bit of a nerve).

Eventually, the retailer sends a replacement. I receive it. It’s ok, but there’s a minor fault with it. An annoyance rather than anything significant and probably not something they’d acknowledge was faulty (assume it’s a minor cosmetic fault that you can’t see unless you look closely). It’s a heavy item and to send it back under their would cost about 5% of the item cost, and they won’t refund the warranty.

You’ve guessed what happened next. The original item arrives so I now have two. I can’t imagine how they’d ever find out.

Would you..

A. Say nothing so you have two of these items (as I say, it’d be useful)
B. Call them and see if they want the original (second to be received) item back (assume they will due to price) then, send it back
C. Arrange for the second item to be collected, but swap it for the annoyingly slightly faulty one first, essentially returning it for free. This would mean having to dismantle/re-wrap the first and they may notice.

Thoughts?
